Apropos a news item ‘SECP yet to finalise answers to objections on Multan Metro Project’ published in Daily Times on November 6, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan has clarified that it had sent its response to the Senate body on November 3, 2017, along with all the requisite annexure and supporting documents.
It said that the matter was deliberated upon by the entire commission. The commission unanimously agreed upon response was sent to the secretary of the Senate Committee on Finance.
“The SECP holds the parliament in high esteem and cannot imagine concealing any facts from it. It also needs to be noted that in this case, the SECP took all the actions in a timely manner and there was no inordinate delay in any matter on its part.”
