Fatyana selects Lahore for Awam League’s first convention
ISLAMABAD: Disappointed from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), former Pakistan Muslim league (PML) leader and senior politician Riaz Fatyana has registered his new political party “Awam League” (AL) and has decided to hold its first country wide convention in Lahore on last week of September this year.
Talking to Online, Fatyana said that the new political party has a vast agenda of reforms for the country. “Our mission is to make Pakistan a welfare state and the constitution and the civil institutions would be re-organised”, he said. “We are in favor of revolution rather than change in the country”.
He said that about 90 per cent of the population of Pakistan is living under the line of poverty while remaining 10 per cent have occupied all resources. He said, “Distribution of the national wealth to common people is our party’s manifesto. Jobs would be given on the basis of merit and salary would be given as per the nature of job.”
Highlighting his party manifesto, he said that education up to M.Phil level would be free across the country while the deserving people would be provided health care and residential facilities free of cost. He added that all unemployed youths, orphans and needy persons would be given living allowance.
He further said that the minimum salary of the employees would be Rs 40,000 while 45 per cent share would be given to the labourers and the farmers. He said that the public universities and the teaching hospitals would be built at each district level and the present structure would be extended four times.
He added that it was dangerous to establish residential colonies and localities in the fertile lands as his party would introduce multi-storey residential projects. Besides this, elected agriculture chambers would be made across the country which would fix the prices of agricultural products without the interference of the government and the businessmen.
He said that heavy taxes would be imposed on wealthy people while common man would be facilitated. He added that 60 per cent reserved seats for women in National Assembly would be reduced while 40 per cent seats would be given to lawyers, teachers, overseas Pakistanis and representatives of farmers and labors.
He said that overseas Pakistanis would be given the right to contest the election and the prices of industrial products would be fixed and the lost traditions and moral values would be revived. He added that Pakistan is a nuclear state and a permanent seat in the security council of UN would be demanded.
Talking about the next strategy of his newly constituted political party for the next general elections in 2018, he said that AL would contest polls at every level and the seat adjustment would be done with other political parties at the time of need. “It would be our utmost attempt not to include corrupt persons in our party and prefer to include patriot, good reputed figures in our party”, he concluded.
