LAHORE: Former Punjab governor and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Makhdum Ahmed Mehmood on Tuesday said the party’s organising committee completed its work regarding the reorganisation of the party in southern Punjab.
Talking to the PPP leaders from southern Punjab, Makhdum Ahmed Mehmood said following the completion of work by the committee, recommendations had been forwarded to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari who would give go ahead in this regard. He said the party chairman would decide about the PPP southern Punjab office-bearers.
The committee of the PPP southern Punjab included Mehmood Hayat Tochi Khan, Shaukat Basra, Khawaja Rizwan Alam, Abdul Qadri Shaheen and Shugufta Chaudhry.
Speaking on the occasion, Ahmed Mehmood advised Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to avoid repeating the politics of 1990. He said politics of confrontation would have negative effects on the country, adding the country was facing many challenges. He said Bilawal was the symbol of federation.
