LAHORE: Former interior minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday urged the ousted premier Nawaz Sharif to avoid confrontation with the institutions.
Addressing a press conference in Texila, Nisar cautioned Nawaz to defend himself in courts with full strength without confrontation.
“Confrontation with the judiciary is neither in favour of Sharif family nor the country,” he warned.
In an answer to a question regarding Foreign Minister Khwaja Asif’s statement suggesting a joint operation with the United States against terrorists in Pakistan he said, “If we invite another power to conduct an operation in our country, it is like making a mockery of the country”.
“Pakistan believes in the capabilities of its military and intelligence agencies,” he said.
In response to another question about Asif’s “put our own house in order” remarks, he said that the ministers should spend their time in putting their house in order rather than passing such statements as it damages the country’s narrative against terrorism.
