MULTAN: A district task force team on Thursday raided a factory at the Industrial Estate Area here on reports of preparation of ghee from animal offal and arrested 21 persons including the factory owner.
RTA Secretary Kashif Dogar accompanying police and other officials raided the factory on Thursday afternoon, said officials adding they found stinking animal offal spread on the ground there. The task force sealed the factory and got FIR registered against the factory owner Muhammad Maqbool and other accused. An exercise has also begun to lift the offal and bury it.
The officials also found big drum of Sulphuric acid and bigger metallic vessels on stoves to melt the animal offal including fats and other parts to prepare oil. It may be noted that DCO Nadir Chatha had ordered crackdown against factories running illegally and engaged in illegal businesses in the city, its suburbs and other tahsils of the district.
